Just admit it. The only thing you love more than your Nintendo DS is playing pirated games on it…I mean, not playing pirated games on it…

Anyway, the point is, playing illegal copies of DS games was never really an issue thanks to crafty security workarounds (cough-R4 chip-cough) that turned the DS into a homebrewer's wonderland of unlawful dalliances. So when it came time for the DSi, Nintendo decided to fight piracy the same way it tried to with the Wii, firmware updating.

Unfortunately, as Kotaku reports, you just can’t keep a good pirate down, and the proof is Supercard’s new http://eng.supercard.sc/manual/dsonei/jsh.html%20" target="_blank">DSONEi flashcart. Basically, whenever Nintendo updates the DSi’s official firmware, Supercard will release a DSONEi firmware update of its own to keep the piracy train rolling. Sneaky. Sneaky.

It’s hard to say how long this cat and mouse system can go on, but chances are the DSONEi will continue to be the flashcart du jour for many a DSi homebrewer out there. At least until it's banned, and another product comes along to take its place.

Piensen algo.

Si no hubiera habido napster, itunes, ipod.. que seria de la industria de la música al dia de hoy?

Cuántos artistas nuevos habrías conocido al año?

Cuantas joyas de culto, difíciles de encontrar te habrían hecho el dia?

Pocas... de hecho si alguien me puede decir cuántos artistas nuevos al año, al mes o algo! Descubre al dia.. seria un buen punto de referencia.

El hecho es que pasa lo mismo en la industria del videojuego pero el costo de creacion de la propiedad intelectual y el mismo es mucho, pero muuuuuuuuucho mas caro. Ahora bien.. es gracias a las consolas, sistemas como estos que presentamos y sus hackers respectivos que la piratería, más alla de herir la industria, sus autores y demás.. nos brinda y empuja a que existan nuevos modelos que también piensen más alla del mercado para el cual fueron fabricados estos productos en primer inicio.

Veamos.. creo que esto para varios paises se parece más al futuro!

Democratizacion de las cosas? precios accesibles? Costos... diferentes? Modelos! diferentes..
